There are so many angles to approach this from.

Some companies send a team to learn something new.

Some companies bring in consultants.

Some send one person.

Some task one person with changing a department.

Sometimes people do these things all on their own.

But you can’t send the whole company at once.

So the new piece of information is always in someones head.

They have to convince everyone else.

Sometimes the new idea is a good solution.

Sometimes it is not.

But it is usually different.

Whether or not it’s a good idea is up for debate.

Whether it’s different is not.

There can be a conflict here.

One or more people believing that an idea, or a set of practices, can completely change or improve the way things are done.

And the way things are done are that person’s livelihood.

Their sense of self worth.

Their day-to-day activity.

So, it may be really important to them.

Because it is to everyone else too.

This is a crucial moment.

The way you approach talking about ideas will lay the path for that idea’s future.

Some people feel like they don’t have the luxury of time.

And some people don’t.
