The only tiny essay you ever need to read on Global Warming

I asked my boss “How do you know you’re doing the right thing for the company?”

He said, “We’re doing the best we can. If we learn suddenly that we should have been standing on our heads the whole time, then we’re screwed.”

With the advent of people caring about global warming, I’m suddenly standing on my head, and everyone is looking at me weird.

We admit that lower car emissions need to happen, but that electric vehicles would get electricity from a grid that is still powered from fracked gas pipelines. So, I don’t drive.

We admit that the amount of water and energy needed to produce animal meat and animal products accounts for 1/3 of all emissions. So, I went vegan.

We admit there is so much trash piling up that cities are running out of places to put it. So, I try to buy as little as possible, and recycle and compost as much as possible.

Scientists say that the best thing we can do, since consumer actions pale in comparison to tangled government and business interests, is to get political. So, I got political.

We admit that global warming is the greatest existential threat to face any generation. Yet, people say my reaction is extreme.

It is easy to say you want to do something. It is hard to stand up and do it.

Where do you stand?
